Let the celebrations begin!

It was September 10th first, then it was September 24th and when fans almost lost their nails owing to the suspense of the movie's release, the announcement that Endhiran would release on October 1, 2010 marked the start of a long celebration which is entitled to the Superstar alone. Here are some high voltage firecrackers to ‘wow’ you.

Endhiran has already set a new record for ticket prices in the US. If the ticket price of a normal Tamil, Telugu or Hindi blockbuster is between $10 and $15, Endhiran tickets are sold at $40. The previous record was held by Sivaji The boss, when tickets were priced at $25.

The advance bookings in the US were closed within the first few minutes. This was the case in Chennai too where tickets for the opening weekend were sold with a few minutes. Endhiran is the first movie in the history of Tamil cinema when advance booking was opened 10 days before the movie's release.

Endhiran will be released in over 3000 theatres worldwide, which is a record. With 30 screens in Chennai alone and 60 shows in Mayajaal, it is expected that Endhiran will be screened more than 450 times in the city alone during the first weekend. Needless to say this is another record for a Tamil movie.

Never have we seen a movie poster printed for a trailer release. This was the case for Endhiran when the trailer was released in select screens in the city. Milk Abhishekam, garlands, firecrackers.. just for the trailer release? What can we expect when the movie releases?

Let the celebrations begin!
